Solar radiation has destructive effects on the skin ranging from sunburn to accelerated skin aging and skin cancers. Sun exposure is the leading cause of skin cancers, the most serious consequence of irradiation. But the risks of heat stroke, sunstroke, photosensitivity and sun allergy must also be taken into account.
