Healing
Healing is a skin tissue repair process that involves three stages:
- An inflammatory phase lasting 2 to 7 days, during which the skin, which appears red and hot, defends itself.
- A deep healing phase during which the dermal tissues regenerate by forming fleshy buds, proliferations rich in vessels and cells.

- After a fortnight, there is a superficial phase known as ‘epidermal remodelling’, during which the epidermis closes up around the edges of the wound.
In addition to the wounds that trigger this protection mechanism, there are other recurring forms of aggression to the skin: skin irritations, the causes, frequency, location and forms of which are legion and can vary from one individual to another.
