Baby's skin is very fragile. It plays a protective role because the skin prevents the excessive loss of water, proteins, mineral salts, heat, and prevents the entry of microbes and bacteria.
In order to properly fulfill its barrier function, the skin must be particularly "strong and resistant", and therefore in good health.
