This study shows that Avène Thermal Spring Water has an immunomodulatory effect on the production of cytokines in healthy and atopic cells.
The presence of thermal water in the culture medium of the stimulated healthy cells made it possible to increase the proliferation of lymphocytes. Thermal water increased the production of IL-2 and I IFN-γ and decreased that of IL-4 when healthy cells are stimulated.
In the case of stimulation of atopic cells, thermal water made it possible to increase the proliferation of lymphocytes, the production of IFN-γ and IL-10, the production of IL-4 was normalized.
The response of the cells depends on the nature of the stimulation.
