Sun filters are supposed to remain on the skin’s surface, regardless of whether the skin is healthy, damaged and/or exposed to UV rays.
A tissue study published in 2017 in the Skin Pharmacology and Physiology journal (Impact Factor: 1.974) showed that the 4 sun filters (Tinosorb S, Tinosorb M, Parsol 1789, Uvasorb HEB) used in the orange range do not penetrate the skin and remain on the surface.
