Clinical Study of the Tolerability and Efficacy of KELUAL DS Sebocontrol in Seborrheic Dermatitis of the Scalp
Population
60 subjects (30 adults, 30 adolescents) aged 12 to 60 (mean age: 27 years), of whom 61% were women and 39% were men, with mild to moderate seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp.
Application of KELUAL DS Sebocontrol
KELUAL DS Sebocontrol was applied to the scalp three times a week for 12 days.
Application of DUCRAY Extra-Mild Shampoo on Day 15, followed by no shampooing until Day 18.
Evaluation Criteria
At baseline, on Day 3, at Week 1, and at Week 2:
- Clinical assessments (scaling, erythema, pruritus, oily appearance of the scalp)
- Tolerability
Results
- -97% reduction in dandruff 72 hours after the last shampoo (on Day 18)
- -72% reduction in sebum 72 hours after the last shampoo (on Day 18)
- -81% reduction in itching 72 hours after the last shampoo (on Day 18)
- -54% reduction in erythema 72 hours after the last shampoo (on Day 18)
- Cleanses and extends the time between shampoos by up to 72 hours
- Very good dermatological tolerance
Conclusion
This study demonstrates the efficacy and excellent skin tolerance of this shampoo in patients with seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp accompanied by hyperseborrhea.
