Tolerance and efficacy of DEXYANE insulating barrier cream for protection against household and occupational irritation, under dermatological control

Population

55 adult subjects exposed to household or occupational irritants (friction, chemical irritants), on the hands or areas exposed to irritants (ears, glasses area, neck (jewelry...), hairline)

 

Application of DEXYANE insulating bareer cream

Application 3 times a day to hands or face for 21 days

 

Evaluation criteria

  • Clinical scoring of the insulating and protective effect by the investigator and the subject
  • Clinical scoring of clinical and functional signs presented by patients (erythema, desquamation, xerosis, itching, tightness, burning)
  • Illustrative photographs
  • Skin tolerance under dermatological control

Results

  • Effective/very effective insulating effect for 98% of patients according to the investigators at D8 and D22
  • Significant decrease in the intensity of clinical and functional signs from the 1st application
  • Very good skin tolerance

Evolution of clinical signs after 3 weeks of application of the barrier cream; illustrative photographs of a subject with irritation to jewellery and his watch.
