Tolerance and efficacy of DEXYANE protective cleansing oil in patients with mild to moderate atopic eczema, under dermatological and pediatric control
Population
43 subjects (11 adults, 16 children, 16 infants) with mild to moderate atopic eczema (SCORAD between 10 and 25 at inclusion)
Application of DEXYANE protective cleansing oil
Application once or twice a day (based on cleansing habits) for 3 weeks, to the face and body
Usual emollient authorized
Evaluation criteria
- Evolution of the severity of atopic eczema via the SCORAD questionnaire (Scoring atopic dermatitis)
- Scoring of the intensity of xerosis (4-point scale; 0 = absent to 4 very severe) and pruritus (VAS)
- Skin tolerance evaluated under dermatological and pediatric control
- Cosmetic acceptability
Results
- Significant decrease in SCORAD of –29% after 1 week of application and –73% after 3 weeks (p<0.05)
- Significant decrease in pruritus intensity of -91% after 3 weeks of application (p<0.05)
- Significant decrease in xerosis intensity of –62% after 3 weeks of application (p<0.05)
- Immediately soothed and comfortable skin for 100% of patients
- Excellent skin tolerance

- Reduction of xerosis and pruritus associated with atopic eczema
